Xenoblade Affinity Chart

A nearly complete Affinity Chart showing the five regions in the game

The Affinity Chart (Japanese: キズナグラム, kizunaguramu, Kizunagram) is a major game mechanic in Xenoblade Chronicles.

Overview[]

The Affinity Chart displays the party's affinity, or reputation, with various regions of the world, the affinity between NPCs, and (via a separate menu) the affinity between pairs of playable characters. A higher party reputation (Area Affinity) with a region allows more quests to be taken from that region and causes NPCs in the region to offer more items to trade. Achievements can be unlocked depending on the progress of the Affinity Chart as well.

The Affinity Chart can be changed by completing certain quests. NPCs will change their description and affinity towards each other, for better or for worse, and the party's reputation with a region may increase (or rarely, decrease) upon completing certain quests. Many quests will be unavailable until the relevant NPCs are spoken to and registered on the chart.

Often, the player is given a choice between two quests, or quests with multiple choices. In these quests, the Affinity Chart may change in accordance with the player's choices.
