Hidden Enemies are a type of enemy in Xenoblade Chronicles X. They are not a particular family but rather those that use a particular mechanic - being hidden from the party. This means that they cannot be targeted, will not appear on the mini-map, and will attack the party regardless of level if approached. Some families of enemy are always hidden, although most can be hidden or not hidden. Often members of the same sub-group of enemy will appear in the same area, some hidden and others not.
Hidden enemies tend to resemble either natural features or inactive machines; they often appear partially submerged in the ground or hanging from the roofs of caves. They will usually attack the party whether travelling by Skell or by foot, but some (for instance Si-el, the Vacuous) will only attack Skells. Many of these enemies can be identified beforehand by looking closely at the environment; common tells include subtle movements, visible legs, or simply looking a bit different from the terrain features the species tries to imitate. If traveling quickly, the hidden enemies spawn in differently than the environment, sometimes giving their location away.
Enemies listed here are by family, not individual types.
