The Machina Refuge (Japanese: マシーナの隠れ家, Mashīna no Kakurega) is a Secret Area in Xenoblade Chronicles. It is a hidden room located on the fourth floor of Mechonis Field. There are five Machina at this location, one of whom is Bozatrox. The Machina Refuge Shop is also located here.
To get to the Machina Refuge, the party must traverse the last platform of the Great Battle Scar. This can be accomplished by warping to the Great Battle Scar, and taking the vent upwards. Once at the top, instead of going left to get to the interior, if the party heads right, they will come to a bend that dead-ends at a long slope downwards. The party needs to slide down the slope to the first landing and then the second and climb the ladder found there. In the original Wii version, the Machina Refuge can also be reached by the party repeatedly jumping forwards up the battle scar. In the Definitive Edition, jump height has been slightly lowered, so equipped Quick Step gems maxed out to 25% is required for the party to jump to it.
