Mechon M31 are Mechon enemies in Xenoblade Chronicles. They appear at level 5 in the Commercial, Residential, and Military Districts, and just outside the Main Entrance in Colony 9 during the Mechon raid on Colony 9. Contrary to the Story Exclusive Mechon M31, they will respawn, but only during the Mechon raid on Colony 9, and they drop a Treasure Chest.
They are capable of hovering above the ground. They are Sight Monsters that attack upon seeing the party. Mechon M31 are first seen in Colony 9 during the Mechon raid. They are defeated and driven off along with the others when Metal Face flees. They appear in other areas acting as flying sentries.

Sharing their kindred's design, Mechon M31 are blue-and-gold plated monsters that hover using a single propeller. They have a single red "eye" and almost resemble a banana-shaped telescope. They have a single spear-like appendage beneath their eye.
In general, Mechon M31 share their species' abilities and resistances to conventional weaponry. Similarly, they are weak to the Monado and any weapons enchanted by the Monado.
Due to being airborne their Hit Points and Defences are low but they are very fast enemies that can attack from distance thanks to their Energy Shot ability.
Whilst not encountered by the party, one Mechon M31 is seen just as Shulk and Reyn make their way to the Bionis' Knee before fleeing to Colony 6. It is presumably the Mechon that informs Xord of the Monado's approach.
