The Mechon M72 is a story exclusive Mechon in Xenoblade Chronicles. It appears at level 6 during the Mechon raid on Colony 9. It is fought only during the third story event battle at the Main Entrance. It does not drop any Treasure Chest, does not grant any EXP or AP for defeating them.
There are three other versions of this Mechon M72, another story exclusive variant fought in the Central Plaza, a normal variant, and a story exclusive variant fought during the prologue event in Sword Valley.

Appearance
Mechon M72
The Mechon M72 has very similar appearances to Mechon M63 with the exception of the bulky, bulb-like extension on its arm instead of a rotating claw.
Trivia
- In cutscenes, Mechon M72 are the general variety seen, and seem to be one of the main "shock troops" of the Mechon race. However, in actual gameplay terms, players are usually more likely to face Mechon M63 instead.
