  • Before any kind of editing gets a bit too out of hand (hilarious that I'm telling you about that), I'd just like to point out that all of the Heart-to-Hearts with rare Blades occur with the specific Blade, their Driver, and maybe another specific character (for instance, Wulfric's in Fonsett always has Wulfric and Tora, but the last character is Wulfric's Driver. Mine happened with Nia). I'm just saying because I noticed that you were throwing out edits on the H2H pages and they had specific characters listed, which isn't always the case.

as a side note, thanks for correcting my edits on the blade pages

  • Thanks for keeping my little edit rampage in check. I'll try to restrict the stuff I add to the Poppiswap page to what's visible in-game and put the datamined information on their individual pages, like I've started doing with Ether Mod (maybe let me know if I ought to be doing something different there too, formatting or otherwise).

While I'm here, I would appreciate any pointers you can provide, so that I may avoid these slipups in the future.

    • First of all, many thanks for completing the Poppiswap and Poppi parts pages, it was in fact a big work left aside for now. I have just edited the Ether Mod page, please tell me what you think and if it is suitable for you. Then I propose to help you to earn time by using my bot (Pages was created via bot and script, so do not waste time with the "erroneous" things due to a will to earn time by using copy/paste... and the work left aside for now). So, if the table format of Ether Mod suits, I will launch the bot to change similarly the tables of the other Role CPU pages, in this way, you will just need to add data. Later, for the other parts type, like we are doing for Role CPU parts by just editing Ether Mod then launch the bot to format the other pages, you can just modify one page, then I will launch the bot.

I have just edited the Poppiswap page, I finally think the Poppi column necessary. I also moved the Master Mods after their corresponding Mods, people can group them if they want by sorting the "Name" column. Is this OK for you? Could you please give me here a link to the Moosehunter's datamine document? Just to take a look and check a few data. Thank you.

I have just seen your comment: "May I suggest having this and other Master Mod CPU pages redirect to their respective ordinary counterparts? It seems rather redundant for them to have their own page, given that they only differ in their superior stats and manner of acquisition. I'll try putting the Master Ether Mod information on the ordinary Ether Mod page first, to test the waters a bit. DevNode27 (talk) 05:09, April 14, 2018 (UTC)"

I made the redirection before reading your comment, so this was obviously a good suggestion!

    • The formatting for Ether Mod looks good, likewise with the Poppiswap edits. I'll be sure to keep the bot in mind, though each part category will probably need its own formatting. I'll get on top of that as soon as I have the time.

Here's Moosehunter's document. There's a few things that aren't currently listed there, most notably anything having to do with 'Tiger! Tiger!', that I've been able to gleam through bits and pieces he and his peers posted on the /r/Xenoblade_Chronicles Discord channel, so if you can't find something in the doc to verify published information, that's probably why. At the moment, it's mostly just the specific stages the exclusive parts can be found in and their rate of appearance (which I'll get posted later), but there might be more eventually. Thanks again for your help.

    • Thank you. OK I will add the new table format to the Role CPU pages.

  • "Heliocentric model of the solar system" isn't redundant because "heliocentric" modifies the word "model" whereas "solar" modifies the word "system". You can't drop one of the adjectives without losing information. It's similar to saying "a gold-plated model of a gold atom"; dropping the first "gold" would remove information about the model, while dropping the second "gold" would remove information about the type of atom represented by the model.

Wikipedia's Heliocentrism article even uses the exact phrase "heliocentric model of the solar system".

    • I see what you mean as a syntax point of view in English. My mistake was to be too affirmative while the interpretation can be different. It seems that this interpretation may be very different in English and French. In my point of view, this is a redundancy because "heliocentric model" means a "the model centred on the sun" (moreover there is only one sun in our system, this model is thus unique...) basically and uniquely dedicated to our solar system, without or before considering any syntax point.

  • I see that you've set their respawn status to "No". As stated in the article, they only permanently despawn after their objective, and as such shall respawn normally in the cases of actions such as Skip Travelling when those conditions are not met. Rebellious Soldiers respawn as well before their respective "step" is completed during their quest for reasons unbeknownst to me, regardless of whether or not their respective wave has been beaten and that objective ticked (for context, there are three objectives in that step that inform you to take out three individually kindred groups of Soldiers). Is there some special caviat to calling enemies respawnable or otherwise for the purpose of this Wiki? If so, I'd like to know how it applies.

    • It is simple, if they did not respawn anymore after completing the quest (although they can respawn during the quest), the field must indicate "No", as a respawn possibility in the long term, and in fact as a quest-exclusive enemy in general (however one or two exceptions as it happens in XC1).

        Loading editor
    • Pretty classy stuff, as one might say.

Should in-quest respawnables warrant saying so in their article so as to separate the few that do and the several that don't?

        Loading editor
    • Yes, what you mentioned in the last sentences remains interesting and can be kept, many QEEs do not respawn at all once defeated, it can be interesting to know that these ones can be battled many times until the completion of the quest, for example when you want to obtain a certain numbers of dropped items, etc.

  • I strongly disagree that this edit was inconsistent. The information I replaced was completely wrong.

Nia is a Flesh Eater, which is a Blade that's taken human DNA. So she cannot be related to them. Jin has been shown to have consumed a part of his Driver to become a Flesh Eater himself, and it's heavily implied in her backstory cutscenes that's also how Nia became one. Cole stated earlier in the game that it's very rare for a Flesh Eater to come out without issues, and given the fact she was able to hide that she was a Blade for so long means that she may have been one of the lucky ones, whereas Jin had problems and regularly needed treatment.

It's clear in the cutscenes at Spirit Crucible Elpys that she started referring to them as her family because of the lord's influence and was groomed to become a replacement for the dead child. She continued doing so after their deaths to hide the fact that she's a Flesh Eater. Flesh Eaters have been shown to be able to maintain their forms after their Driver's death, which explains why she is still alive and kicking and could bond with Rex so easily after first revealing herself as a Blade.

So the information I put in was more accurate than it is now. You even admit in your edit summary that my version was "inconsistent as well", which means you acknowledge that the information on there currently is bad. But you reverted it? That makes no sense. If there was an issue with what I added, wouldn't it have been better to just add to it or change some parts rather than completely disregard it? Because that's counterproductive.

    • Nice! In fact, we usually remove those spoiler tags later (after a few months), only the spoiler banner will be kept. If the story section still contains huge spoilers, the idea and good thing for the article is to have at least the first or two first paragraphs not under spoilers tags, for the visibility of the article and the usefulness of this story part (providing a minimum of info about her to everyone, even people who has just started the game), and just having the "last" paragraphs containing important spoilers under the spoiler tags.

    • Right, I get you.

Sorry, I didn't realise that would be removed later on.

  • Dear WiseAdventurer, my last edit in the Blade was not for nothing. It's the part in the "Special Blades" list where Aegaeon's name stand in a "spoiler track". When you click to show the spoiler, a view of the last letters of Aegaeon's name are showing below. My edit was meant to fix that completely.

    • You should have written this message before re-editing, I am lenient this time but you are warned. You edit was not suitable, you were lucky to see to "problem solved", the maximum length is 600px, the sum of each column px was far beyond 600px.

        Loading editor
    • I see that you did fix the problem on a way that's maybe better than my way was. Well, thank you for that.

  • Since I'm not sure how to recategorize characters or if I have permission to, just letting you know that Remmiq should go in XC2 female characters instead, not male, lol. http://xenoblade.wikia.com/wiki/Remmiq

  • Thanks for double checking my page edits. Was confused on the exact phrasing for formatting since the pages weren't consistent with quotations, times and the like. I'll make sure to keep them in mind when I update more pages.

    • Hi Wonderlandway! I plan to write you after finishing this. There is no problem, except the three of four first ones, what I am doing is not a correction after your edits but a few things I am adding or fixing in complement.

After the three or four first edits, all the numerous other are perfectly edited, the format is correctly used or kept. You provide a great work, many thanks!

I'm glad, I've really wanted to contribute for awhile. I hope to eventually add more than just to the Merc pages. I was also wondering if there's a reason for not having a Merc Point page or if it would be okay to make one?

        Loading editor
    • We deal with Merc Points for now in the Merc Group page, but I think a page for Merc Points will be added, it is an important stat. If you want to create it, it is OK, you can use other stat page as a model, Weapon Points, Experience Points (XC2) or Hit Points (XC2), etc.

  • I don't suppose there's a source I could use for getting enemy base stats? I've been doing some number crunching, trying to figure out how the Xenoblade X enemies have their stats calculated, and the increments they receive per level, based on the numbers in the enemy index. There's little on the wiki regarding strategy and enemy traits, and given the tyrants in the game, I want to improve that.

    • Am in the process of making a thread. Hop on if you want Aximili. To add to the note, was this true for enemies of the same level, or was there deviation?

    • Fine, thanks! It is an interesting and rather important discussion, it will be better to make it visible for the whole community.
